Delia Paine

Delia uses vintage gift wrap to make one-of-a-kind holiday ornaments. She prints clear film with black graphics, then die cuts the film into discs. Those printed, round pieces of film are placed over fun, old wrapping paper, mostly from the 1960’s. The background papers are cut one at a time by hand and taped in place to each film disc before the ornaments are assembled using an industrial button press.

She also will be bringing a few items from her father’s Agate and Jasper collection. Thom Lane was well known throughout the US and Europe as a discriminating dealer and collector of rare and museum grade, polished half-nodule specimens and slabs as well as cabochons for jewelry. He cut and polished material which he sold to jewelers and dealers throughout his life. He was known to trade his skills with old-time miners, working in extremely remote locations throughout the Northwest, Southwest and in Mexico. He worked the mines in hot, dangerous conditions in order to be the first to pick through chunks of the best rough material. He was a bit of a nomad and this way of life suited him well.
